On May 20, 2023 twenty teen mothers supported by Nsanga Initiative in Muyumbu Sector, Rwamagana District were given different hygiene materials and other items to support their babies.
Nsanga initiative is providing school materials, school uniforms, school fees, hygiene products like sanitary pads, bar soaps. The polidge and milk are also provided to help teen mothers maintain a healthy diet to their babies. Nsanga also pays mutuelle de sante to their families, so that they can access all the public health services and their babies.
Jean Pierre Twizeyimana, the Legal Representative, Nsanga Initiative, stressed that the initiative will make sure that they get the required support, so that they complete the education programs they started. He reiterated that each member should make sure to use the opportunity and be equipped with the skills to allow her to be well position on the local job market.
Adolphe Gashumba, the in charge of Social Affairs in Muyumbu Sector, thanked Nsanga Initiative for being a great partner with the sector. He reminded the teen mothers in the TVET program, to be ready to start implementing what they acquired in the training program, so that they can contribute to the improvement of the lives of their babies and themselves as well as their community.
The initiative started with 20 teen mothers in Muyumbu sector, where 11 of them are completing the tailoring course, 1 already completed hairdressing, 4 brought back to resume their usual schools and 4 with small businesses.
